Triathlon I & II
Swim
350 meter swim in the LSU Natatorium Pool
The pool will be set on long course (50 meters long) with 8 lanes. The athletes will enter the pool one at a time, 5 secs apart, swim down the length of the pool and swim under the rope to the next lane. This is repeated until 7 lengths of the pool have been completed (they will be at the far corner of the pool at this point) and will exit using the ladder. They will exit the Natatorium through the front doors, down the ramp and into the transition area. Indoor/outdoor carpeting will be to minimize slippery areas.
Transition #1
The athletes will exit the front of the Natatorium and proceed to the Transition Area where they will put on their cycling gear, unrack their bikes and run with their bikes to the Mount Area to start their bike segment.
Bike
12 miles on River Road
Athletes will proceed out of the transition area and down Nicholson, making their way to River Road on the clearly marked course. BR Police and volunteers will staff the turns and the roads will be marked with chalk arrows and caution hazard markings (for potholes, etc). Athletes ride proceed 6 miles into the course and turnaround at the clearly marked (and staffed) race turnaround section, making their way back to the Transition Area. There will be one aid station on the course but riders must dismount to get fluids (no hand ups). There will be bike technical support on the course for help with mechanical issues but each racer should be prepared by carrying all the necessary tools/spares.

Transition #2
Athletes dismount their bikes in the designated area and run with their bikes back to their assigned spot in the Transition Area. They take off their biking equipment and put on their running gear. They exit the Transition Area at the 'Run Exit'.
Run
2 miles on Campus
Athletes complete their 2 mile run on a clearly marked course (complete with aid stations) and proceed to the Finish Line!
